Required Skills

Assistant Professor Doctoral degree in epidemiology, occupational health, public health, or related field. Minimum 3 years of professional academic experience in the design and execution of epidemiologic research, including advanced statistical analysis. Knowledge or experience in research on climate-related health impacts, exposure science, or related areas of expertise, especially as applied to the health of workers and their communities. Demonstrated experience in research including applying for research grants, ability to design, execute, analyze, and evaluate environmental and occupational epidemiology studies. Experience collaborating with external partners on leading epidemiological investigations. Past experience in teaching one or more undergraduate or graduate level course in the field of environmental and/or occupational health Associate Professor Doctoral degree in epidemiology, occupational health, public health, or related field. Minimum 5 years of professional academic experience in the design and execution of epidemiologic research, including advanced statistical analysis. Experience as Principal Investigator on research or public health practice grants/contracts. Experience in research on climate-related health impacts, exposure science, or related areas of expertise, especially as applied to the health of workers and their communities. Demonstrated experience in graduate-level course development and teaching in the field of Occupational and Environmental Health. Preferred Qualifications Experience conducting research or public health practice in lower resources settings, particularly in Mexico and/or Latin America. Experience in conducting public health practice programs. Demonstrated ability to lead interdisciplinary teams and to collaborate with partner institutions in the execution, analysis, and publication of occupational and environmental epidemiology studies. Demonstrated national or international reputation for leadership in their academic discipline. Knowledge and experience in research on Chronic Kidney Disease of Unknown Origin (CKDu) Bilingual (English/Spanish).

The Colorado School of Public Health (ColoradoSPH) and Department of Environmental and Occupational Health has an opening for a full-time position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, Clinical Teaching Track. The Department of Environmental and Occupational Health invites applicants committed to an academic career in the field of Occupational and Environmental Epidemiology who are eager to become part of a vibrant, growing department. The position holds qualifications to participate as a faculty member of the Department, conduct occupational and environmental epidemiologic research and public health practice at the Center of Health, Work & Environment (CHWE), and in inter-disciplinary teaching in Occupational and Environmental Health. Innovative, cross-disciplinary, and research-to-practice approaches are particularly valued. Competitive candidates will be emerging leaders in the field who have a track record of conducting independent research (Associate) or potential to develop an independent research program (Assistant). Successful candidates will also have a demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence and research-to-practice (public health practice). All successful candidates will demonstrate a passion for mentoring.
